Campin' with the FAM!

Okay so once again, I've slacked off.....sort of. Our internet has been down for a very long time, and finally we got someone to come out and fix it yesterday, so hopefully he REALLY fixed it this time. Also, we have been passing the stomach flu around here.....AGAIN! Is it me, or does our family get this stupid virus more than most? I don't get it! For the past year, we have had more stomach bugs fly through this home than any other virus out there! YUCK! Anywhoo, me and Isaac were both knocked down this weekend with this nasty bug, so there's another excuse for why I haven't updated my blog. Today, Syd is at school and the boys are "quitely" playing, or should I say, they're upstairs and I'm not! So here are some pictures from our Nielsen camping trip up at the Spruces in Big Cottonwood Canyon. We had a total blast! The kids keep asking when we can go again, and this time can we take Daddy? They missed their daddy up there. He was off at Youth Conference with our ward youth, so this was a test to see if Mommy could handle the kids on her own on a camping trip. Overall I think it went pretty well.......thanks to my family helping me out. We only had a few minor problems, which for us is pretty darn good! And thank goodness the stomach virus waited to hit us when we weren't out of town and we had Daddy home to help out! :) So, here are some pics of our trip! :)

Fishin'!

This summer has been pretty chaotic and long with the kids out of school, but I'm taking on the challenge of keeping the kids entertained probably mostly for my own sanity! We haven't done much traveling this year as far as family vacations go (other than our trip to Arches), but we have been out and about quite a bit......mostly FISHIN' lately! I'm sure by now most everybody knows that I have an obsession with fishing! If only I could get out and do it more often! I have started taking the kids with me and they seem to enjoy it for the most part. Mr. I especially loves going and loves to cast his fishing pole out, but doesn't really do much more than that unless I catch one, and then he likes to reel it in for me. S......on the other hand likes to go with me, but she mostly just likes to hang out and watch. So, let me tell you a story about "Turkey" the Catfish! I caught this HUGE fish....biggest one I've ever caught....measured 18". So I'm reeling this big old fat thing in and once it comes on shore, S.......ran away screaming! I think it kind of freaked her out, but eventually she decided she liked it once it stopped flopping around. Mr. I thought it was the coolest thing. He wouldn't leave it alone! To make a long story short, we caught this monster fish in Bountiful Lake. The kids named him "Turkey" since I kept calling him a turkey while I was trying to get the hook out. When we left, they were a little upset that he was dead and we couldn't take him home and put him in our fish tank! GO FIGURE!....Then a couple of weeks later, my sweet hubby was kind enough to cut me loose with a friend for a few hours and go off fishing WITHOUT the kids! Bless his sweet heart! Between me and my friend, we came back with 10 fish! It was a total blast and it felt SOOOOOOOOOOO good to get away from the daily stresses and just go to my little paradise and sit and relax! AAAAAAHHHHHHH! So, I know this blog is kinda strange, but hey, this is what's been happening lately. I've been taking the kids around to various lakes and ponds to fish and it gets them out of the house. I have more posts to do, so stay tuned! I have some pretty cool stuff to show! :)
